How can they charge 7000 for a bike and 7000 for a dirt bike?Dirt bikes cost more to make and have better suspension.Mountain bike costs are a joke.

Uh. OK, someone is on a rant.

MTB costs r certainly not cheap but nor r they a joke. Huge amounts of money go into the R&D for suspension designs & technology alone. If u dont spend it designing it, u spend it licensing the design from whomever did the R&D. Add to that the emergence of hi-tech alloys replacing standard old CrMo & Al. even carbon fiber isnt just plain old carbon fiber anymore, mtb companies have spent huge amounts of money researching exactly what carbon content & laminates make the most durable frames. Add to that the prevelance of Ti components & the fact that, more & more mtbs r essentially tricked out dirt bikes but with way more hi-tech frames & parts & with no engine but still way tech in general..

Dirt bikes. all steel or aluminium, tech is been around for years. R&D is paid for at this point. l mean just look at the suspension. MTB u have a world of different designs actuating the rear suspension. Dirt bikes, single pivot. Exactly where is the tech on dirt bike that u feel is so much more expensive than whats on a mtb???

Not really sure what u r asking. By ''dirt bike'' do u mean an off-road motorcycle or mountain bike that u pedal? Bikes that r pedaled r frequently made out of materials that r extremely light yet very strong (carbon fiber composite or titanium). Those materials r expensive & in high demand for other purposes so the bikes become expensive. The bike frames can also be very time consuming to build out of these materials which adds to their cost. Supply & demand is also another reason for the high cost. Not a lot of people actually buy bicycles that cost $7000+.

That is your opinion, opinions are like certain anatomical parts every one has one. Now the reason the bikes cost so much is that jap mc makers can spread the eng. and other related costs over more units, there also is a huge markup on high end bikes.

90% of the technology u enjoy on a dirt motorcycle came from the mountain bike industry: suspension design, damping circuits, & aluminum frames, to name a few.

Does it really cost more for a robot & a few immigrants to make a dirt bike than it does for a few specialized EXPERTS to build the perfect bike by hand out of titanium, custom built for the rider?

l have a custom ti road frame from Dean, & it is the best purchase l have ever made. It is perfect in every way, & the craftsmanship is second to none. Hang some hand-made Italian carbon fiber components on it, & it is truly a thing of beauty.

But like they say, if u do not get it, u do not get it.
