it has front shocks only,i replaced the rear brake cable cause l do believe some a s s hole cut it,i had the back wheel trued also when l took it down to have it fixed cause it was bent.Everything works great as far as the shifting with the twist shift.It probably has about 600 to 1000 miles on it.My question is,what should l take time and maintain? l basically have done nothing except oil the chain and what not + the stuff l listed above. l also wanna buy this kit for it.Does these kits work good? Maybe you have one on yours.If so what is it like? Thanks l do apologize for this long question.Thanks.

There is a list of things that should be done on a periodic basis to keep the bike in top shape.

Weekly or every 300 miles (whichever comes first)- clean chain & relube with silicone or paraffin based chain lube. Do NOT use motor oil/3 in 1 oil/WD40 types.

Monthly or every 500 miles (whichever comes first)- Loosen then retighten all quick releases & stem/handlebar bolts & crank bolts. Do not just retighten an already tight bolt as u will eventually break the bolt or strip the threads- always loosen THEN tighten. Lube all pivot points- derailleurs, brakes, etc. Pull the seat post out, grease inside the seat tube (frame) & reinsert.

6 months or every 2000 miles (whichever comes first)- check & replace fork oil (if equipped), inspect & true wheels, deflate tires & reinflate, rebuild headset (clean/relube). Remove the pedals, lube the threads & reinstall. Always use white lithium grease when necessary, NOT typical car grease (your username noted).

Every year or every 3000 miles (whichever comes first)- overhaul hubs, headset, check bottom bracket & replace/rebuild, degrease, clean, & relube entire drivetrain, inspect cables. Do NOT lubricate inside cable housings as they usually have a teflon sleeve in them which softens on exposure to most lubes. If cables show wear or display increased friction replace cables & housings. Replace brake pads.
